Campers have free time during meals, snack breaks, and before and after the main day’s activities. All scheduled activities are expected and designed to support each camper’s experience, with exceptions made when needed for health or safety.
Camp Rhapsody operates rain or shine, adapting activities as needed in response to weather. Campers are encouraged to come prepared with layers and gear for changing conditions so they can fully participate in the experience.
Campers stay in shared sleeping cabins with bunk beds, with each cabin housing up to 10 people and a dedicated counselor who stays in the cabin overnight. Shower and restroom facilities are located in nearby buildings, separate from the cabins.
Cabin assignments are designed to ensure every camper feels comfortable, respected, and secure. Campers under 18 are placed based on their stated housing preference, including all female, all male, mixed gender, or any cabin. Campers over 18 are housed together regardless of gender.
Campers are welcome to request to room with friends, and while every effort is made to accommodate those requests, final cabin assignments are based on housing preferences and overall availability.
Campers are provided three meals, a snack, and dessert each day, with a menu designed to be both nutritious and enjoyable. A typical day includes a full breakfast, a hearty lunch with a variety of options, an afternoon snack, and a well-rounded dinner, followed by dessert in the evening. Meals are balanced with a mix of proteins, grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables, with options available to suit a range of preferences. On the first day, campers receive a check-in snack, dinner, and dessert, while breakfast on the final day is the last meal of camp.
We are committed to accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences. Campers can share their needs during registration or by reaching out in advance, and our kitchen team works to ensure there are appropriate options available for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and religious diets. Food allergies are taken seriously, with precautions in place to avoid cross-contamination and maintain a safe environment.
For campers with more specific needs or preferences, we’re happy to store and serve meals brought from home. Advance coordination is encouraged to ensure proper storage and preparation. Our goal is to make sure every camper feels well taken care of and can fully enjoy their experience.
Camp Rhapsody maintains a strong camper-to-staff ratio, with recent attendance including 51 campers supported by 22 staff members and counselors. This allows for attentive supervision and a supportive environment throughout the camp experience.
Staff members on site are trained in first aid and CPR, ensuring there is always someone prepared to respond in case of an emergency. While there is not a dedicated medical professional on site, situations are assessed carefully and handled on a case-by-case basis. If needed, parents will be contacted and campers may be taken to receive medical care. In the case of illness, families may be asked to pick up their camper.
Campers are responsible for managing their own medications, with the expectation that they communicate any needs with staff. The goal is to maintain a safe, responsive environment where campers feel supported and cared for at all times.
We understand that being away from home can feel like a big step, both for campers and for parents. Campers are welcome to bring phones for safety, communication, and photos, but usage is limited during scheduled activities so they can stay fully engaged and build meaningful connections. Cell service can be inconsistent depending on the provider, but campers are typically able to find reception in certain areas during free time if they need to check in.
Our staff is very intentional about creating a supportive and inclusive environment where campers feel comfortable, seen, and cared for. If a camper is feeling homesick, counselors are there to provide encouragement, connection, and extra attention to help them adjust and feel at home.
For parents, you will be provided with a designated camp contact for the week, so you always have a direct line of communication in case of an emergency or urgent need. If a situation arises where your camper needs additional support, you can trust that our team will communicate with you and take the appropriate steps to ensure their well-being.
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to offer flexibility where possible. Cancellations made two weeks or more prior to the start of camp are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than two weeks before camp will receive a 50% refund. If a cancellation occurs on or after the first day of camp, refunds are no longer available, even if the camper does not attend.
To help make camp accessible, we offer both payment plans and scholarship opportunities. Families interested in a payment plan can reach out to coordinate an option that works best for them. Scholarship applications are also available for those who may need financial assistance. Our goal is to ensure every camper has the opportunity to participate.
The full price of camp is $550 but we offer an early bird special of $500 if you register before June1st.
Please note that payment must be paid in full online or postmarked by May 31st to receive the Early Bird Discount.
